Little Oil Testimony

Ever been hit so hard and fast by a head cold or sinus infection that it stopped you from what you needed to be doing that day? Work, taking care of the kids, running errands, etc? Yeah that happened to me…again. When you’re working full time and being a single parent (at the moment) full time, plus trying to have a social life and keep up with the holidays, stuff like this catches up to you and it always comes at the worst time.

I had taken off work to go to a doctors appointment (yes I still believe in Western Medicine), run errands before my annual Christmas Party, get my hair and nails done and do it while my son was at daycare. Unfortunately some little nasty bug/virus got to me and I was out for the count.

Instead of getting all my errands done and getting a little pampered I was in bed resting and using my oils like c r a z y. No over the counter meds? Nope. NONE.

Within 24 hours, I was back up and running and slaying the day with my son in freezing cold rain. Yepp, I felt like superwoman again.

These oils are amazing and it’s so nice to use something that is NATURAL and not synthetic. NO side effects short or long term either. Just healthier happier me.

It’s taken me a while to figure out oils and how to use them appropriately and I am still learning each and every day. Not every oil and oil blend works for everyone the same way, so what works for me may not work for someone else. Figuring out what works for you is the best way to learn.

To beat this cold I used several different oils and used them several different ways. I diffused Thieves and Purification and then I switched to Peppermint, Lavender & Lemon. I took several capsules a day mixed with Lemon, Frankincense, Thieves and olive oil and lastly, when I had a headache I applied Frankincense, Peppermint and Lavender to my forehead and temples. Then I inhaled the rest – such a great smelling combination!

When my nose was super runny, I applied Lavender topically around my nose and instantly it went away. Then I added some Peppermint to open my airways. Love me some Peppermint!

I have my main oils I use most often and I always make sure they’re in stock. My go to oils are:
Thieves (my #1 – always have this on hand)
– Peace & Calming or Peace & Calming II

Really I could list a lot more but I’ll stop there.

You can also find a lot of these oils in the Vitality section which means you can take them orally. The vitality oils are smaller and cost less so it’s something to consider if you’re starting out or just want to keep some in the kitchen for cooking and quick access.

The capsules I use are from Young Living and can be found here.

If you’re interested in learning more about oils send me a message. I’d be happy to tell you more or answer any questions or concerns you might have. You can also check out my YLEO website here.

What are some of your favorite oils and how do you use them when you’re sick?
