Think Young Living is Too Expensive? This is Why It Isn’t.

I hear people say from time to time that they love essential oils and would love to use Young Living’s but that their oils are too expensive. Every time I hear this I just want to have a full blown conversation with them about how the oils and products are not expensive at all and that in fact, they could be getting a lot of these items for F R E E. Yes, for free.

So when you become a member with Young Living, you get every single product for 24% off, ALL. THE. TIME. There are no requirements to sell or share these oils and products and there are never any monthly minimums to meet. The only minimum you have to meet in order to continue to get everything for 24% off is to spend $50 a YEAR. Yes, a year.

How do you get free products though? So this is where it gets even better. Once you’re a wholesale member with Young Living (kind of like being a wholesale member at Sam’s or Costco) and are getting everything for 24% off, you can enroll in their rewards program which is called Essential Rewards or most commonly known and referred to as ER. Essential Rewards has been a life changer for me and my family and I don’t plan to get off of it anytime soon. Why would I? The freebies and perks are too great!

Let’s back it up a bit. Young Living is a way of life and a game changer for most. Young Living offers people and families support and encouragement on their wellness journeys. We are all seeking to be the best version of ourselves that we can be, mentally, physically and emotionally. Some of us are just starting out and others have been doing this for years. No matter where you are, it’s always a great time to start and continue to go and help others along the way. What’s even more amazing is that Young Living can support all of us in one way shape or form. They provide overall wellness and I truly believe we are all trying to be well rounded.

Did you know essential oils are tools? Just like gym equipment or proper nutritional guides are tools, so are essential oils. These oils in particular have thousands of uses and benefits. I’m not going to get into all the ways to use them and what to use them for but I will tell you they help us feel happy, balanced, motivated, inspired, driven, and just our best. Ladies, during that time of the month, you want that crazy feeling kicked out the door? Yeah, me too. And I not only kicked it out the door, I put it on the curb and the trash men picked it up and got rid of it for good. I feel a lot more in tune with hormones now, happier and not moody like I used to be. That’s just one small example of how these awesome oils have helped me.

Fun Facts!

  1. The 15ml bottles of Young Living Essential Oils have 250 drops in them. The 5ml bottles have roughly 90 drops in them. That means you’re getting 250 or 90 uses and you only need 1-2 drops per application.
  2. Young Living Essential Oils are 100% Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils and have no ZERO fragrance or synthetic fillers in them – YOU’RE GETTING THE BEST AND THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK
  3. Fragrance and synthetic fillers are harmful to your body and its systems (mood/hormone, respiratory and immune disrupters, eye and skin irritants and the list goes on).
  4. There’s no guarantee that what the health foods store, Amazon or TJ Maxx is selling is truly 100% Therapeutic Grade quality essential oils. Most likely they are using 5% of the essential oil in the bottle (and that’s a maybe) and the rest is filled with crud. JUST STOP wasting your time and money.
  5. The Vitality oils (white labels) are for dietary use – cook with them, add them to drinks, or put into a vegetable capsule. The oils that have regular lables (non white labels) are labeled for aromatic (diffuser) or topical use. However, a bottle of Lemon Essential Oil and Lemon Vitality are the exact same oil, just different labels.

Young Living makes living our best lives, easy. They create highly concentrated products like shampoo and conditioner, bath gels, dish soap, etc. and that means more for you and less money out of your wallet! Here’s what I mean. If you buy the Thieves Dish Soap at wholesale price of $14 for a 12oz bottle (I know, you’d normally freak out at this size and price but don’t just yet!) you will take 2/3 of that dish soap, put it in a glass jar or container (think Mason or Ball jars) and set it aside (make sure to label it so you remember what it is). Then add a tablespoon of baking soda to your dish soap (completely optional) and then fill the rest with warm water and stir. This will give you 3 bottles of dish soap instead of 1 and it comes out to be about $4.67 a bottle instead – TOTALLY AFFORDABLE. Not only are you getting this for a great price and it’s going to last you for months, you’re getting all natural plant based ingredients with essential oils that will clean well and leave no harsh chemical residue behind. Which by the way, if you’re using the other guys that are easily accessible and cheap, there is a reason for that and they leave those nasty harsh chemicals on your dishes and then when you or your children go to eat off of it or drink out of it, you’re putting those chemicals into your and your children’s bodies. YIKES! Time to make the switch.

With their Thieves Hand Soap, at $36.50 you get a pack of 3, 8oz. foam pumping soaps to put in 3 rooms of your home – think kitchen and bathrooms. You’re not throwing those $12.16 bottles out once they are empty though. You’ll reuse them to save money and help the environment plus you’ll order the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap Refill for $39.50 for 32oz. You’ll fill those empty bottles half way with the refill then fill the rest with water. That comes out to $4.93 a bottle and it’s going to last you a while! You’ll have good clean and pure all truly natural hand soap that lasts a long time. Don’t care for the smell? Add a drop or 2 of Lemon essential oil or Citrus Fresh (both come in the starter kit).

The Thieves Household Cleaner is another amazing bang for your buck! The 14.4 fluid oz bottle is $22.50. All you need is 1 capful in a 16 oz glass bottle for light cleaning and the rest you fill with water. Guess what Young Living doesn’t charge you for? Water. The glass bottle is available on Amazon for about $5 – $7. Add a pretty little label to it and call it a day. You can make 30 – 60 bottles (depending on your degreasing needs) all for roughly a $1 each. I only need 2 of these bottles from Young Living to last me a year. If you’re a cleaning company and want to make a healthy switch for you and your clients, get the 64 oz bottle refill. You’ll get over 128 bottles of cleaner for the same price.

You truly cannot put a price on health and wellness and thankfully Young Living makes it simple and affordable to live this healthy life. Next time you’re hesitant to make that plunge, just know your dollar gets stretched far and wide with Young Living essential oils and products and they reward you for making these lifestyle changes along the way.
