My 2 Cents on Essential Oils & Where to get Them

Hey guys! I know it’s been a while since I last posted on the blog but life has been so crazy with a little one, working full time and lots of social activities going on. It’s been great but super busy!

So I just want to talk today about essential oils. I know that when I first heard about oils I was just kind of like okay, whatever, no big deal, don’t care, not interested. But after almost 10 years (yes, I’ve had them and been using them that long) I have become to really enjoy them and use and understand them. I think that it is overwhelming at first especially because we aren’t used to using them in our society. We’re used to going to the doctor, going to the pharmacy or some store and grabbing whatever off the counter and behind the counter. There’s nothing wrong with that at all I just personally believe there’s a time and a place for that stuff and I really would encourage you to explore the world of essential oil’s and not just any essential oils either.

There are two brands that I would recommend to you – Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO) and DoTerra (I can hear my YLEO people dying right now but hear me out). I only use Young living Essential Oils as that’s what I was introduced to, that’s what I have in my house and that’s what I love. I do know a lot of people that use DoTerra and they’re extremely satisfied and happy with the results. I can’t sit here and tell you about DoTerra becuase I am not using them or involved with their brand. Have I ever used them? Yes. Some friends have them and I have used theirs before when I did not have mine and yes, they did work. I’m also not here to bash DoTerra because I think that they do work but I am here to tell you whatever oil brand you use does matter. Let me say that again. WHATEVER OIL BRAND YOU USE, DOES MATTER.

Young Living Essential Oil has a guarantee that they take their oils from seed to seal (you can look it up here for more information). You can also go visit any of their farms, anytime. What other oil company do you know that offers this? You know that what you’re paying for when you purchase YLEO, you are getting 100% therapeutic grade essential oils. So some of you are probably saying “well I shop at this store and they say that it’s 100% organic essential oils.” Well that might be true. They might be using 100% organic essential oils however you don’t know for sure if they’re using a filler to fill the bottle. What I mean by this is they could be using only 5% of 100% organic essential oil and the rest of the 95% of the bottle is a filler with whatever they want to use, meaning you’re not gonna get what you need from that bottle. Let’s say you go to another store to shop for essential oils because it’s cheaper. Well you know the sayings, “cheaper isn’t always better” and “you get what you pay for.” With YLEO they guarantee you what you’re getting is what you’re paying for. Yes, some of them are a little pricier than others and that’s why I would encourage you to sign up as a member with them so you aren’t paying retail price you’re paying wholesale prices.

So what are you waiting for? Go check out Young Living’s website and read what they’re all about. Essential Oil’s are so beneficial to you and I promise you you won’t be disappointed.

Now, I know what you’re thinking “okay, you’ve got my interest but there are a ton of oils to choose from. How do I know which ones to start with and how do I use them?” Glad you asked! I would tell you to start with a starter kit with a diffuser. This kit will provide you with a diffuser and some of the most important essential oil’s that you’re going to use on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Start with that and slowly build up your collection. Again, I have been in the oil world for 10 years now and I finally have a legit stash of oils. There are also some great books (large and small) that I’d recommend you get to help you better understand all the oils, their uses and how to use them properly. Well that’s my little 2 cents on oils. I’ll be posting more information on certain oils, oils I use, my personal experiences with them and more in a bit. For more information on oils I use at least weekly, check out my site here. Let me know if you have any questions or testimonials you’d like to share from your experience with essential oils in the comments below.
